Newland, NC

The Rev. Theodore Edward Blackwell (Ted), died Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

Ted was born October 6, 1937, in Kingstree SC, son of Walter and Gladys Blackwell.  He grew up in North Charleston and graduated from North Charleston High and Clemson University.

He married Katharine Bullock (Kathy) in 1958.  They were married for 63 years and had two daughters, Cindy and Melanie.

Ted answered the Lord's call to the ministry and earned his Masters of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary.  He pastored churches in Crossnore, Harmony and Ellerbe, NC and in the Lebanon, SC community.

His wife, Kathy, died almost exactly one year ago.  He is survived by his daughters Cindy Aldridge (Dennis) of Newland, NC and Melanie Brinson (Barry) of Hollywood, SC, grandchildren Beth White of N. Charleston, Adrienne White of Rockingham, NC, Mike Brinson of Hanahan, and Margaret Wright of N. Charleston, his great-grandchildren Molly, John Michael, Walter and Lila.  He is also survived by his brother David Blackwell (Connie) of Charleston.

Visitation, funeral and burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19 at Indiantown Presbyterian Church, 4865 Hemingway Highway, Hemingway, SC.  Arrangements are by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway.

Memorials may be given to the Indiantown Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
