Tommy Ulmer Gardner, 68, husband of Elaine Poston Gardner, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at MUSC Florence hospital.

Mr. Tommy was born in Florence county, SC, a son of the late Floyd Junior "FJ" Gardner and the late Elaveen Poston Gardner. He was retired from the Florence County Public Works Department.

He was a very active member of the Prospect United Methodist Church where he served as the church Lay Leader. He also served on the church board, taught Sunday School and did the Children's Church on Sunday morning.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Poston Gardner; children, Chad (Kimberly) Gardner of Pamplico, SC and Susan (Kinsey) Jones of Johnsonville, SC; grandchildren, Kaitlin Jones of Johnsonville, SC and Dylan Gardner of Pamplico, SC; brothers, Norman (Carolyn) Poston Pamplico, SC, Carol (Lois) Poston of Scranton, SC and Danny (Patsy) Gardner of Marion, SC; many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best bud and mans best friend, Bosco Gardner.

He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Poston and a sister, Linda Nettles

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Thursday, September 24, 2020 in the Prospect United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Prospect United Methodist Church, 1256 Big Swamp Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
