Tyson Alexander "Sonny" Curtis, Jr., 86, husband of Becky Ward Curtis, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his home in Georgetown, SC, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Sonny was a son of the late Dr. Tyson Alexander Curtis, Sr. and the late Betty Hale Curtis. He was retired from Baxter Laboratories in Kingstree, SC, was a member of the Hemingway First United Methodist Church, and served in the Hemingway Unit of the South Carolina National Guard.

He was a graduate of the Hemingway High School and attended Newberry College. He was a voluntary assistant coach of the Hemingway High School Football team, was a founding member and coach of the Hemingway Mites Football Team. He enjoyed fishing and loved CLEMSON Football.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Ward Curtis; son, Tyson Alexander "Ty" (Caroline) Curtis, III; sisters, Gale Curtis Elliott and Joy Curtis Bryan Stuckey; grandchildren, Emily Curtis, Tyson Curtis, Paul Mason, Woody Preot Curtis, and Pierce Curtis; daughter-in-law, Dr. Marie Curtis.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Faye Thompson Curtis; son, Marion Walter "Woody" Curtis.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 4, 2021 in the Indiantown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4865 Hemingway Highway, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends after the service.
