Hemingway, SC

Vera Nell Stone Grier, 78, widow of Leon Grier, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 in a Florence hospital.

Mrs. Grier was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Hoyt and Ruth Cribb Stone. She was a homemaker, caregiver and a member of the Huggins Chapel Southern Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children, Darren (Dale) Grier and Debra (Franklin) Hayes; grandchildren, Blake Hayes, Trey (Dana) Hayes, and Tina (Brandon) Cusack; great-grandchildren, Braxton Thornsbury and Jamie Hayes; brother, Hoyt "Eday" (Gaynell) Stone.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM September 13, 2017 in the Huggins Chapel Southern Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Hucksfield Cemetery, Hemingway, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM in the Huggins Chapel Southern Methodist Church, Hemingway, SC 29554.
