Veron Nettles, 78, husband of Louise Burr Nettles, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in a Florence hospital.

Mr. Veron was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Zingle Lee and Annie Lou Matthews Nettles. He was a retired driver for Overnite Transportation Co. attended Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, but was a member of Bethsaida United Methodist Church. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, enjoyed fishing, cutting grass, cooking, but most of all spending time with his family especially the grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Louise Burr Nettles, children, Scottie (Kelly) Nettles, Kellie Chohan, and Tony (Connie) Nettles; grandchildren, Emily (Max) Leggett, Zeeshan Chohan, Samantha Nettles, Joshua Nettles, Kameron Nettles, Karson Nettles, and Shane Kester; brothers, Curley (Mary) Nettles, Elton Nettles, and Raydine (Lena) Nettles; sisters, Candy Hanna and Ivanell Lawhon.

He was predeceased by a brother, Homer Nettles and a sister, Connie Godwin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2020 in the Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, 860 Lake Chapel Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2020 in the Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, 7001 Friendfield Road, Effingham, SC 29541.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lebanon Church (Project Highway 52) @thelebanonchurch.com.
