Wallace Eugene "Gene" Gregory,82, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the McLeod Hospice House.
Mr. Gene was born in Union County, SC, a son of the late Johnny and Azalee Proctor Gregory. He worked for many years in Conway as an Industrial Mechanic at Union Merchants Mill and in his later years he worked was a small engine mechanic and repairman.
He was a member of Kingsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church and for many years served as a deacon in the church. He was passionate about his work, his family, and gardening, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband and father who adored his wife and showed loving kindness to his three children. He touched the lives of many people and showed compassion to everyone he met.
He was strong in his Christian faith and raised his family in that wholesome and spiritual environment. His family was active in spreading the Word of Christ through gospel music and he was their # 1 fan. In his last years he spent time watching his children and grandchildren grow, get married, and be successful.
Surviving is his wife, Wanda Moore Gregory; children, Kyle (Marilyn) Gregory, Sondy (Jon) Watson, and Robbie (Amy) Gregory; 7 grandchildren, Amber (Adison) Plyler, Alex (Stacey) Gregory, Caleb (Beth) Gregory, Dustin Gregory, Austin Matthews, Mackenzie Gregory, Madison Gregory, and Nicole Watson; 2 great-grandchildren, William Alexander and Sophia Crowe; brothers, B. F. (Cheryl) Gregory and Charlie Gregory; sister, Mary Campbell.
He was predeceased by brothers, Andrew Gregory and Bud Gregory; sisters, Martha Gregory and Louise Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Prosser Cemetery, 3360 Big Swamp Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
