William Amos Douglas (Amos), 81, passed away at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Amos, a son of the late William Andrew Douglas and Thelma Ellen Jones Douglas,  was born on September 15, 1944 in the Rhems community of Georgetown County.  A 1962 honor graduate of Pleasant Hill High School, he was employed at International Paper before proudly serving in the US Army from 1966-68, during which time he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era.

In the early 1970's Amos owned an Esso station in Georgetown which, over time, became Exxon.  Later he moved to Florence where he worked for IBM before forming his own company, LAN Technology Services, LLC.

Amos is survived by his daughter, Amy Turbeville (Walt);  grandchildren:  Evan Turbeville, Kamran T. Young, Savannah Douglas, Trevor Douglas; and four great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Charles Douglas (Heidi) and sisters Catherine Lawrimore and Joyce Douglas, all of Georgetown, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Linda Douglas, and parents he was predeceased by his son, Greg Douglas; brothers: Andy Douglas, Billy Douglas, Gene Jones, Richard Douglas, Woodrow Douglas; and sisters:  Corinne McDaniel, Mary Agnes Douglas and Annie Mae Hudson.

Amos knew everyone wherever he went.  He will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity.   If a friend needed a helping hand, Amos was there to give it willingly.  He happily volunteered for the Youth Mentors of the Pee Dee with his computer skills for over 30 years.   Amos will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will take place in the Antioch Cemetery located at 200 Antioch Loop, Georgetown, South Carolina, 29440.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.
