William "Bill" Leroy Evans, 98, widower of Pauline Stone Evans, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Bill was born in Johnsonville, SC, a son of the late John Spurgeon Evans and the late Kate Hanna Evans Stone. He was a retired farmer and was also retired from Delta Mills.
He was a member of the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Surviving are his children, Rev. Johnny L. (Lossie) Evans, Paula (Rev. Mike) Jones, Shirley (Danny) Thigpen, Wanda (Danny) Baxley, Merry (Calvin) Grooms, and Amanda (David) Wall; sisters Billie Jean (Dan) Gaster; step-brother, Jimmy Allen (Wanda) Stone; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers, Samuel Evans, and John Evans; sisters, Hannah Mae Gibbs, Ruby Kate Lyerly and Dorothy Lee Poston; step-brother, David Stone.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday March, 18, 2018 in the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Evans Family Cemetery, 244 Evans Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, March 18, 2018 in the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church, 4221 Sheminally Road, Pamplico, SC 29583.
