Hemingway, SC

William Calhoun "W.C" Marsh, Sr., 66, husband of Elizabeth Thel Marsh, passed away Sunday July 4, 2021, at his home.

Mr. W.C. was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of Mildred Ard Marsh and the late Clinton Marsh. He worked as the maintenance supervisor for the Georgetown County School District and attended Outland Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and using his carpentry skills to build things. He also took pride in helping his community by making pileau for numerous fundraisers.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Thel Ray Marsh; a son, William "Cal" (Beth) Marsh, Jr.; daughter, Leslie (Rustin) Cox; grandchildren, Colbyn James Cox and Bryson Bo Cox; sisters, Levette (Jimmy) Lewis and Vicki Tanner; brothers, Italy (Molly) Marsh and Derrick Marsh; mother-in-law, Mae Williams Ray; brother-in-law, Denny (Daphne) Ray; sister-in-law, Regina (Joey) Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Marsh; father-in-law, James Milton Ray; and brothers-in-law, Dean Tanner and Charles Cagle.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 2 PM, at Outland Church of God. Burial services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at Old Field Cemetery, 19761 Choppee Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at Outland Church of God, 22075 Choppee Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.
